A concept sketch of a family of black German Shepherds that I did in February, which could possibly work as an idea for a comic strip or animated series. A practice at drawing dogs, in addition to being the first time I envisioned these characters.

Characters:
Ranger (the father dog)
Sheila (the mother dog)
Grey (the feisty puppy)
Bailey (the chubby puppy)
Holly (the girl puppy)

I set up a new page on Patreon. It’s basically like Kickstarter but more centered around creators than specific projects. Please support me there!

My friend Steve MacIntyre, aka "Draconis", drew me this piece as a birthday wish. It features Sean O’Desse (the main character of “CoyoteVille,” his own webcomic about desert animals) giving Arry to Dilly (the main characters of “In a Common Shell,” my own webcomic about desert animals) as a “present” looking like it was wrapped in gauze bandage. I was initially astounded at seeing this picture in my email, but I like it! Thanks, Steve!

The median age of tumblr isn’t THAT low. I know some people on this site who used to use floppy discs for class.

If you’re 14 or older you will most…

Wow, VHS. One of the best nostalgic things in the world. Still have the tapes (including mine) and own a VHS/DVD combo player. I love this format.

Here’s a new walk cycle I made. This time, I didn’t use tracing paper, but rather a program called NewTek Aura, which is a licensed version of TVPaint (a bitmap-based animation program). That’s a lot easier to do rough animation than paper. But then I lost the .aur animation file, so I have all the frames printed out before that, scanned into my computer, and assembled together on Toon Boom.
